Preserving California's Ocean Life with Marine Protected Areas

California is designing a series of marine protected areas (MPAs), connected by currents, to preserve ocean life and ensure healthy fisheries. These regional networks of protected waters, if well designed, will restore California's commercial and recreational fisheries and allow ocean ecosystems a chance to rebuild.
