Blogs about the environment approaching critical mass. "At the same time that blogging has taken off, we've also had a real zeitgeist shift where suddenly the idea of living in a green and prosperous way is really hot." -- Worldchanging's Alex Steffen

Profeta: "People support environmental protection, but they looked at it through the economic effects, through moral obligations to future generations, through health effects, etc. And you had to appeal to their interests through all those lenses." Bingo.

"As voluntary associations fade from our cultural landscape, political participation is threatened, especially on the left, says sociologist Marshall Ganz." Really interesting Grist interview about how to grow (or re-grow) a true movement.

Great idea -- a wiki-based (i.e., collaborative) "online catalog" of great products, ideas, materials, resources that bit by bit can add up to a more sustainable way of life, for individuals and for the human community as a whole.
