New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman has been on sabbatical writing a book; I'm not sure whether this fiery column about the "shameful pandering" of the holiday gas tax repeal signals a return or just that he's hoppin' mad over the proposal.

This SourceWatch wiki has become information central for advocates of a total moratorium on building new coal-fired electricity plants -- an idea that seems to be gathering adherents every day.

"The Ped Shed blog is focused on walkable urban design and sustainable placemaking." In other words, the kind of thinking that will improve our quality of life as it solves environmental problems.

I suspect that Beijing's smog problems make the infamous L.A. smog of the '60s and early '70s look like a clear, brisk day in Switzerland. Good post on the subject here, from a blogger whose little girl suffers with what sounds like debilitating asthma.

Marcus Peacock, deputy administrator of the Bush administration's EPA, complains in his blog that the agency is misunderstood. In a comment NRDC's John Walke calls b-s. Results: priceless.
