Bio:: I’m a writer and a working mom in a perpetual search for work/life balance. A few things help me keep my head on straight: travel, competitive volleyball, Afro-pop and a stash of chocolate in my desk drawer. And the fact that I work for an organization that’s making the world a better place to live. I feel pretty good about that.
Roots in:: Chicago and India
Favorite place:: My mother’s ancestral home, a farm in southern India. When we visited we would live sunrise to sunset, eat vegetables straight from the fields, bathe in the spring-fed pool, and play till the cows came home.
Why "environmentalism" matters:: I’d prefer not to screw up the earth, especially when we know how to make it better.
