Coal Carolers R.I.P.

The lumpy little coal characters who sang their way to infamy last week may be gone, but it's doubtful the coal industry will learn a lesson from the PR fiasco.

In case you missed it, one of the highlights for me was hearing the Coal Carolers featured on NPR's, "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" show over the weekend. (Just click on the Bluff the Listener link to hear the fun.)

In case you never got to actually see the Coal Carolers perform before the industry yanked them from the web, Treehugger preserves the YouTube videos and provides an excellent roundup of the snark and scorn heaped upon the coal industry for this screwy gimmick.

All this proves, once and for all, that the last thing anyone wants in their holiday stocking is coal.

Great work throughout this imbroglio. And I caught that "Wait, wait don't tell me bit, too -- hilarious.
