Exelon Announces It is Leaving US Chamber of Commerce

Word is just in that Exelon CEO John Rowe announced that Exelon will be leaving the US Chamber of Commerce. Exelon supports federal climate legislation, and joins PG&E and PNM Resources in leaving the US Chamber.

Rowe made the announcement during a speech this morning at the American Council for an Energy Efficiency Economy, according to folks who were at the event.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for a formal statement from Exelon.

UPDATE: Exelon just issued a formal press release on this, announcing that "Exelon will not be renewing its membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce due to the organization's opposition to climate legislation."
