The Wall Street Journal cited a NRDC report regarding health concerns from increased radiation exposure that may arise as a result of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident… In an Associated Press story, David Pettit commended a recent health study on the San Bernardino rail yard produced by Southern California air quality regulators; the study found the rail yard could pose the greatest health risk of any rail yard in the state… Another Associated Press piece, carried by Time, reported that NRDC and other environmental groups have asked a federal appeals court to reject a U.S. government decision approving a Shell oil exploration plan in the Gulf of Mexico... David Doniger commented in a Greenwire piece carried by the New York Times on the appointment of George Banks as Senator Inhofe’s new energy advisor on the Environment and Public Works Committee…

 

The New York Times’ Green blog featured a new public service announcement in which actors Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana and others join with NRDC’s Clean Water, Not Dirty Drilling coalition campaign to stop hydraulic fracking… John Walke was quoted in a Greenwire article carried by the New York Times about the American Electric Power draft bill, which would allow some power plants to avoid pollution rules until 2020… The International Business Times cited Noah Horowitz’s blog post and a recent NRDC study on how Sony and Microsoft significantly reduced the power usage from their main consoles, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360…
