The New York Times carried a Letter to the Editor by Peter Lehner in the Sunday edition; in the letter Peter commented on the health threat posed by the overuse of antibiotics on healthy livestock and spoke about the urgent need for FDA action to ban the use of human antibiotics on healthy livestock… Amy Mall spoke with the Wall Street Journal about a new Texas bill that would require companies to publically disclose the chemicals they use in hydraulic fracturing… A Solve Climate News piece picked up by Reuters pulled quotes from John Walke’s blog post criticizing industry for trying to delay federal rulemaking to limit mercury from coal-fired power plants…
David Doniger was quoted in an Associated Press piece picked up by the Houston Chronicle regarding a Supreme Court decision to block a federal climate change lawsuit; in the decision the court emphasized that the responsibility to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants lies with EPA, not the courts… The Hill’s E2 blog posted a piece highlighting NRDC’s opposition to the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry tar sands from Alberta to refineries in Texas; in the blog post Josh Mogerman spoke about the potentially grave health and environmental risks that would come along with the expansion of the pipeline… Barbara Finamore commented on China’s green building industry and how the industry is integrating energy efficiency as it goes forward in the Global Times… Vivian Wang was featured in a Huffington Post blog about New York City’s urban beekeeping…
