In the New York Times, Kate Sinding reiterates concerns that extracting gas from NY’s Marcellus Shale might only be possible at the expense of New York City’s drinking water… Following on a debate piece penned by Frances Beinecke last month, Wesley Warren went head to head with an Oilman on the topic of “who’s to blame” for US oil shortage and high gas prices in a heated BusinessWeek Debate Room podcast…The Cleveland Plain Dealer ran a full page opinion piece highlighting the expense high gas prices are wrecking on Ohio drivers, and emphasizing how much Ohioans can save by getting their state to back efficiency measures.
According to Julia Bovey, in an article circulated by McClatchy Tribune, liquefied coal is the “filthiest, most impractical and expensive way you could ever dream up to make fuel"…Barry Nelson expresses his support for underground water storage in California in the San Jose Mercury News…A Huffington Post blogger draws attention to NRDC Action Fund’s new website CandidAnswers.org which showcases survey answers by candidates for Congress on global warming and the energy crisis.
