Following his comments in yesterday's USA Today piece, Roland Hwang emphasizes the need to protect American tax-payers from false promises from auto companies in a front page Christian Science Monitor article... In the San Francisco Chronicle Miriam Rotkin-Ellman discusses NRDC's recent report on environmental and health rollbacks under the Bush administration; In criticism of the rollbacks, Miriam points out that "Not testing or tracking pollution doesn't make it go away. It just keeps us in the dark about real health threats"...

Following NRDC's petition seeking endangered species protections for whitebark pine trees earlier this week, more than 50 outlets have reported on the topic; in a widely read Associated Press article, Sylvia Fallon warns that the tree species is facing a combination of threats that, if ignored, could irrevocably harm whitebark pine as a species as well as the large and important ecosystems that the trees support [A Montana news station also reported on the piece here]... Jake Schmidt voices expectations for climate talks in Poznan, Poland in Reuters... Newsweek addresses the "clean coal" myth and the Reality campaign that has been launched by a coalition of environmental groups including NRDC to raise awareness about the reality of clean coal technology: it doesn't exist. Anywhere... On Green Yahoo! Laura Pagano educates readers about the importance of selecting a fish purveyor that cares about supporting and protecting ocean systems...
