Wired magazine explores the possibilities for cleaner jet fuels in the near future, and discusses NRDC’s opposition to airline use of dirty oil from tar sands… Wired also looks into the solid waste left behind by airline passengers when they pass through airports; according to an NRDC study “the average departing passenger leaves behind almost 1 1/2 pounds of trash - and that doesn't include the stuff they leave behind on the planes.”… Henry Henderson cautions the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that tar sands will not help ameliorate America’s addiction to oil; it’s just going to make things worse.
