Julia Bovey discusses what Americans can do to cut energy use at home and on the road with NPR’s “Talk of the Nation: Science Friday” radio show… CNN gives earth-friendlier travel advice on their website, citing NRDC car travel statistics in their very first tip… In a Front Page Miami Herald piece, Deron Lovaas reminds readers that offshore drilling would mean little more than “pennies at the pump at least 10 years from now''…

Wired magazine explores the possibilities for cleaner jet fuels in the near future, and discusses NRDC’s opposition to airline use of dirty oil from tar sandsWired also looks into the solid waste left behind by airline passengers when they pass through airports; according to an NRDC study “the average departing passenger leaves behind almost 1 1/2 pounds of trash - and that doesn't include the stuff they leave behind on the planes.”… Henry Henderson cautions the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that tar sands will not help ameliorate America’s addiction to oil; it’s just going to make things worse.
