Saturday’s front page New York Times article on a recent FDA report adding formaldehyde and styrene to the list of known carcinogens quoted Jen Sass; in the piece Jen criticized industry for trying to create the false impression of scientific uncertainty over the years… Jen was also a guest on Pacifica Radio’s Democracy Now! to discuss the release of this report, and the attempts made by chemical manufacturing lobbyists to thwart sound science…

Noah Horowitz spoke with ConsumerReports.org about a recent NRDC study showing set-top boxes waste a tremendous amount of energy, costing Americans $2 billion per year; the report has received widespread coverage, with hits showing up everywhere on the internet from Gawker and Gizmodo to Forbes and the LA Times online. 

Allen Hershkowitz spoke to the New York Times about the shortcomings of using blended coal as an energy source, highlighting the high environmental cost…

In a ClimateWire article on climate change related health problems carried by the New York Times, Kim Knowlton explained the complex nature of singling out causes for human illnesses… Discovery.com reported on a campaign NRDC is part of that calls on people to “Dump the Pump,” on Thursday and leave their cars at home in favor of public transportation…The campaign was also covered by Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, and others…The Associated Press covered a lawsuit brought on by NRDC and other environmental organizations to stop a proposed landfill in Gregory Canyon, California…This lawsuit was also picked up by the Sacramento Bee, Mercury News, the North County Times, San Diego’s local news station KPSP, and others…  E&E News quoted Michael Jasny on the investigation President Obama is launching on the impact seismic surveys have on marine mammals…
