On ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Gina Solomon warned the public that consuming Gulf seafood may still be dangerous… In a USA Today article, Gina Solomon explained the harmful effects of mercury while applauding the new, more stringent regulations on cement plants which will drastically reduce harmful emissions of mercury and other pollutants… In the New York Times, Helen O’Shea spoke approvingly about the proposed Westlands Solar Park in California’s San Joaquin Valley; the park would create clean energy on land that is otherwise unusable due to contamination from previous agricultural production… The Missoulian reported on the U.S. District Court decision to protect wolves under the Endangered Species Act and quoted Matt Skoglund who discussed this opportunity to improve the wolves’ recovery plan… In a letter to the editor in Politico, Franz Matzner confirmed the continued unity of environmental organizations in the fight to create green legislation…
Jennifer Sass cautioned consumers about products that contain the chemicals triclosan or triclocarban and recommended using products that have alcohol instead in an interview with CBS’s New York City affiliate… In Grist, David Goldstein commended Smart Growth communities and discussed the economic benefits of place-based mortgages…
