Laura Sanchez explained, in the New York Times, that while Arizona’s withdrawal from the Western cap-and-trade program was a step backwards, it will not likely effect the implementation of the regional plan… Thom Cmar lambasted a federal plan to stop the advance of Asian carp into the Great Lakes in an Associated Press story that appeared in the Washington Post. Thom said the plan offers “a lot of middle-ground alternatives with no discussion of why any of them would actually work."… Thom asserted in the Detroit News that there is only one long-term solution: permanently separate the Great Lakes from the Mississippi river basin…
