In USA Today, Dan Lashof commented on a recent study linking lower carbon emissions to the economic recession. Dan countered that some of the drop in emissions should be attributed to efforts of big countries, such as Germany and the United States to limit and reduce carbon emissions and invest in clean energy… A New York Times editorial cited warnings from NRDC that Governor Paterson’s recent deal to build a casino in the Catskills could lead to a spike of air and water pollution… Time Magazine spoke with Tom Cochran about Russia’s track record on nuclear waste management and the potential risk from floating nuclear plants in the arctic… NRDC was quoted in an Associated Press article carried by The Washington Post about the first mass-market electric cars out on sale in December...

 

Shravya Reddy spoke with PBS’s Need to Know for a ClimateDesk podcast about the upcoming climate conference in Cancun and the role India will play in international climate change negotiations… KPCC’s Pacific Swell blog quoted David Pettit about how the ports have chosen to act on the Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP), especially with the Clean Trucks Program. David cited the CAAP in urging the Port of Long Beach to change course- calling the port's action a breach of trust… E&E Daily quoted Daniel Rosenberg about the failure of an amendment to the food bill aimed at banning BPA from baby bottles and children's sippy cups; the amendment faced strong chemical industry opposition…
