Over the past 24 hours NRDC has received a great deal of coverage regarding our stance on the House energy bill promoting offshore drilling. In fact, articles quoting
Frances Beinecke have been picked up by over 55 outlets across the nation, many in local markets.

The most highly re-posted article appeared in outlets like the San Diego Union Tribune and the Vancouver Sun, and was written by Reuters. In the piece, Frances Beinecke is quoted as the representative of the environmental movement, and she emphasizes that “as it stands, the clean energy provisions in this bill are dwarfed by the push for outdated, dirty and expensive energy”… In the popular political outlet Politico, Frances is quoted again, this time pointing out that “The House energy bill falls short of what Americans really need to meet our energy challenges”; the Politico article was also picked up by CBS.comFrances also talks about American support for clean energy in the Seattle Post Intelligencer, and she nabs the closing quote in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel calling drilling a distraction and insisting on a serious focus on clean energy research.

In the Charleston Post Courier, new DC media associate Erin Allweiss spoke about NRDC’s continued fight to keep clean energy research measures on the floor, while Discover Magazine drew on Frances Reuters quotes to bolster the environmental message in their blog post… Frances is also quoted in the foreign outlet Al Jazeera…
