In a Reuters story, Jennifer Sass praised a recent report by the Department of Health and Human Services that added formaldehyde to a list of known carcinogens, after years of industry delay; exposure to formaldehyde, a substance found in many common household products, raises the risk for nasopharyngeal cancer, myeloid leukemia and other cancers… In another Reuters article, David Pettit was quoted about the lack of progress by industry to improve oil spill response resources and technology… Bob Keefe commented in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on the Texas light bulb bill that would evade federal standards for more efficient light bulbs…

Melissa Lin Perella was interviewed on Southern California public radio station KPCC about the impending federal ruling that will decide whether the Port of Los Angeles can regulate the kind of trucks that serve the harbor complex… In the Contra Costa Times, Barry Nelson commented on a recent lawsuit by farmers and water districts to overturn Delta water restriction; Barry explained that the suit would roll back protections for a collapsing ecosystem and salmon fishery… Bobby McEnaney was quoted in the Daily Kos about the extension on the moratorium to protect lands near Grand Canyon from uranium mining… Noah Horowitz’s blog post and a recent NRDC study on how Sony and Microsoft significantly reduced the power usage from their main consoles, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 was cited on popular tech web site CNET.com
