NEPA to Fight Climate Change, Defending E-Waste Law, Consequences of Gas Drilling and Threats of Coal

In a Greenwire piece carried by the New York Times, the White House Council on Environmental Quality hinted that NEPA regulations might be amended to address climate change in response to a 2008 petition from NRDC and other environmental groups… In TreeHugger, Kate Sinding criticized electronics manufacturers for “absurd” claims related to their lawsuit against a recently passed NYC e-waste recycling law, which NRDC is helping the city defend; Kate was also quoted by Crain’s New York Business and several other outlets… The Tennessean quoted NRDC in an editorial calling for further research into the potential consequences of natural gas drilling in Appalachia... In The Bay City Times Shannon Fisk criticized a new coal fired power plant proposed by Consumers Energy as both environmentally and economically wasteful… Shannon further emphasized the plan’s potential consequences in The Jackson Citizen Patriot… The Daily Green praised NRDC's Keep Winter Cool Campaign for encouraging the development of more environmentally friendly ski resorts…
