Gina Solomon spoke to Time magazine about the unknown dangers to human health that could result from the Gulf oil disaster, which she discussed in an article published today in the Journal of American Medical Association online; the article was featured on the front page of Time.com today… Other outlets also interviewed Gina on this topic, including Reuters, Businessweek, and Bloomberg NewsAl Huang penned an Op-Ed for Politico about the importance of proper disposal of oiled debris like booms and contaminated water… In a front page business section piece the New York Times cited an NRDC study on the massively destructive practice of mountaintop removal coal mining …

 Thom Cmar explained to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that certain agencies are trying to downplay the serious threat that the invasion of Asian carp poses to the Great Lakes… Josh Mogerman explained to the Gary Post Tribune that because tar sands oil is “more abrasive” than other types of oil, it requires a stronger pipeline made of a higher grade of steel to safely transport it… The Los Angeles Times mentioned an NRDC’s recycled paper products shopping guide in a piece on how to make our homes more eco-friendly… Jennifer Sass commented that relying on pharmaceutical companies to test the safety of their own products represents “an inherent conflict of interests” in California’s Times Standard
