Frances Beinecke was quoted in Forbes about Christie’s third annual Green Auction: Bid to Save the Earth to draw attention to the rampant water pollution in China, saying “You know the color that’s going to be in fashion next season by the color of the rivers in China.” The Wall Street Journal also covered Christie's "Bid to Save the Earth" auction, which focused on water conservation and benefited NRDC… In an interview with Southern California Public Radio’s “AirTalk” show, Avinash Kar expressed concern about FDA’s new guidance aimed at reducing the use of antibiotics in livestock, saying that the measures would rely mostly on letting the livestock and drug industries voluntarily cut their use. Avi was also quoted in a Los Angeles Times’ Opinion piece about the new rules…

Steve Fleischli spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the stormwater pollution settlement NRDC reached with the city of Malibu late last week, noting that “by curbing the biggest sources of pollution in the Santa Monica Bay, we can keep trips to Malibu beaches carefree, and prevent people from getting sick when they go in the ocean.” David Beckman also weighed in on the Malibu settlement, saying “clean beach water is not only good for public health, it supports healthy coastal economies that are key to California's tourism industry” in an Associated Press piece picked up by San Jose Mercury News, Sacramento Bee, and the San Francisco Chronicle

Henry Henderson was quoted in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch about a proposal to convert an East St. Louis’ long-abandoned Superfund site into what would be the nation’s largest urban solar farm, producing enough electricity to power about 4,000 homes… Michael Jasny commented on the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s proposal to allow seismic surveys, geological sampling and other testing activities along the shores of the mid-Atlantic and south Atlantic states in an E&E News article… LAStreetsBlog featured NRDC’s new video about the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s green bike lanes program… Eric Goldstein discussed New York and Chicago’s weak recycling efforts in a Mother Nature Network article picked up by…
