Frances Beinecke spoke with the Washington Post about the important role the commission appointed by the President will play in making sure a disaster like the Gulf oil spill never happens again... Bob Deans was interviewed in depth on Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC about the impacts the oil spill is having on the Gulf coast... On NPR radio show The Takeaway David Pettit took the government and BP to task for their inability to adequately address the impacts from the Gulf Coast spill... David also spoke with The Associated Press about BP’s failure to use basic spill prevention measures on their drilling operations... In an interview with WCBS-TV in New York, Wesley Warren expressed his hope that the tragedy in the Gulf will result in improvements in regulation for any future off shore drilling...

Ann Alexander pointed out to The Michigan Messenger that coverage of BP’s Gulf oil rig disaster has helped refocus attention on the pollution coming from BP’s Whiting refinery on the shores of Lake Michigan...
