Frances Beinecke spoke to the Oil and Gas Journal [subscription req'd] about the failure of the Federal government to enact any of the Presidential Oil Spill Commission’s recommendations, saying, “Congress has failed to pass a single law to better protect workers or the environment”… Bob Deans went up against American Petroleum Institute President Jack Gerard on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, explaining why President Obama’s decision to delay the Keystone XL pipeline was the right choice for America…
In a Reuters article, Ed Chen commented that President Obama’s decision on the Keystone XL will help him win greater support from his constituency base that cares about environmental issues in the upcoming election, and suggested the President consider other upcoming environmental decisions in that same light… The Huffington Post covered NRDC’s annual Forces for Nature benefit yesterday, which honored Wendy Schmidt, Eric Schmidt and Arianna Huffington; the coverage, which included footage and a slideshow, was featured on their homepage…
A USA Today article covered a report by NRDC and other enviros, which found that increased recycling practices throughout the country could add 1.5 million new jobs to the economy… This report was also covered by Tirebusiness.com and E&E News… A Los Angeles Times article quoted David Pettit on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which has erroneously been labeled a “job killing act” by some elected officials… Amy Mall commented to the Scientific American about a letter NRDC and other enviros wrote to President Obama last week, about the excess environmental impact of producing shale gas…

He forgot to be truthful and say that it was a purely political decision based the upcoming election.
