Frances Beinecke shared her reflections on the first Earth Day with USA Today’s Green House blog… In an article on the EPA’s recent approval of offshore drilling, The Wall Street Journal also took a quick look at NRDC’s pending lawsuit to block a permit issued by the Department of Interior for oil drilling in the Beaufort Sea… David Pettit spoke with NPR’s Marketplace about strategies to sustain a clean trucks program in California’s ports over the long term…

 

In a NBC New York story on new recycling legislation in NYC Eric Goldstein highlighted the potential of the recycling bills to reignite interest in the city's recycling program… Noah Horowitz co-wrote an op-ed that ran in the Hartford Courant calling for legislation to set an energy efficiency baseline for new flat-screen TV’s in order to protect the environment as well as the pocketbooks of Connecticut residents… Nathanael Greene explained in the Des Moines Register why mature ethanol industries, like corn ethanol, should not be counted as an advanced biofuel.
