Frances Beinecke was interviewed live on PBS Newshour last night about the catastrophic Gulf oil spill and the need to “to completely reform the relationship between the oil industry and regulatory authorities”… David Goldston explained to PBS’s Nightly Business Report that our problem with the oil spill goes beyond the depth of the well: it has to do with the fact that all drilling is risky… Gina Solomon commented in a Washington Post article about the human health risks associated with the Gulf oil spill, explaining there will be “a legacy of contamination” for years to come…
Sharon Buccino stressed in an ABC News.com blog post that the Bush administration “put the interest and the profit of their friends in the oil and gas, coal industry” ahead of the interests of US citizens… Regan Nelson spoke to Fox Business News about the long term effects the oil spill will have on the Gulf ecosystem… Shannon Fisk applauded the delay of construction of a new coal plant in a Detroit News piece, calling it “a great victory and clears the way for Consumers and Michigan to make more investments in energy efficiency, wind and solar power”… Jon Devine was quoted in the New York Times’ Green blog post about EPA’s new approach to pollution control issues at thousands of factory farms…
