Deron Lovaas talks about cash and energy savings from plug-in electric cars on CNN’s Newsroom… The Wall Street Journal reports that a federal appeals court overturned an EPA rule preventing states from implementing tougher pollution-monitoring requirements; John Walke called the ruling a “pretty serious rebuke of the Bush administration” for trying  “to tie the hands of states at the behest of industry"…Luke Tonachel encourages manufacturers to improve performance and make tire efficiency data widely available in the Washington Post, arguing that public information on better tires would help the nation cut oil use and help consumers save cash…In LA Times’ Greenspace blog Annie Notthoff calls a California bill due to cut back on urban sprawl (and unnecessary driving) “historic” pointing out at it will cut back traffic, global warming pollution, and save drivers money in a time of rising gas prices.

Jen Sass calls on the government to do more testing, more regulating, and to do more to prevent contaminants from getting into drinking water in the first place in a Bloomberg.com article reporting on the growing science behind the health risks of arsenic in the US water supply… Pacifica Radio and Grist, among several other outlets, report on NRDC’s current suit against EPA to obtain pesticide information related to honey bee colony collapse disorder; in the Pacifica segment, Gabriela Chavarria talks about EPA’s unrelenting suppression of the information.
