In the International Herald Tribune Frances Beinecke praises president-elect Barack Obama for “putting words into action” by selecting qualified, dedicated individuals for top energy and environment positions, and thereby reconfirming his commitment to fixing America’s economy, building our energy independence, and addressing global warming… On CNNMoney.com Karen Wayland contrasted the high level of expertise and environmental commitment of Obama’s newly appointed energy team with the sub-par performance of President Bush's current team… Also of note, Peter Lehner spoke LIVE about Obama appointments on CNN International, Felicia Marcus talked about them on Radio Pacifica’s KPFK, and Dan Lashof discussed the appointments LIVE on MSNBC… In other news, Frances Beinecke’s biography was also published in the ‘Who’s Who’ section of the most recent issue of the official magazine for the Ministry of Environmental Protection in China.
In light of new rules reducing the amount of water pumped from the San Joaquin Delta to protect the health of the delta and endangered fish species, Doug Obegi explains the connections between delta health, fish populations and water conservation in the San Jose Mercury News.
