AOL News carried an op-ed by Frances Beinecke on the Gulf oil spill disaster, reiterating America’s dire need for comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation… In an Edmonton Journal (Canada) opinion piece about the Gulf oil spill and parallel situations in Canada stemming from the nation’s tar sands industry, Frances Beinecke was quoted about the need for cleaner, renewable energy…In a New York Times print article, Wesley Warren suggested the oil spill may be “a watershed environmental disaster”… Michael Jasny spoke to the Agence France Presse about the serious threat the oil spill poses to marine life, saying bottlenose dolphin populations could be “devastated” and that sperm whales are “under direct assault from the spill”…
