An Op-Ed by Peter Lehner ran in El Nuevo Herald, the Spanish edition of the Miami Herald; the piece discussed President Obama’s Oval Office address about the oil spill and America’s need for clean energy… In a Los Angeles Times piece, Jake Schmidt commented on talks at the G-20 summit about reducing subsidies to oil companies… Gina Solomon was heavily quoted in a Medscape Medical News article, carried by WebMD, about the potential psychosocial and carcinogenic effects of oil spills…  In a Greenwire article carried by the New York Times, Aaron Colangelo discussed NRDC’s motivation for filing a lawsuit today against the Food and Drug Administration to ban the chemical bisphenol A from food packaging… And in a Climatewire article picked up by the New York Times, Kim Knowlton talked about the reappearance of dengue fever in the US…

 

David Pettit emphasized that even NFL football stadiums are subject to environment laws, in a Los Angeles Times article about a stadium proposed for downtown Los Angeles… In South Carolina’s Post and Courier, Simon Mui compared plug-in electric and gas-powered vehicles… Darby Hoover explained whether or not it was worth it from an environmental perspective to wash and reuse sandwich bags in a Mother Jones Blue Marble blog post…
