Amy Mall praised the Department of the Interior for freezing oil and gas leases for 60 contested Utah drilling sites in the New York Times... In a Greenwire article picked up by the New York Times Pete Altman emphasized that Fortune 500 companies are leaving the US Chamber of Commerce because they think the Chamber is on the wrong side of climate legislation, despite claims by Chamber President Donohue... And yesterday New York Times blog Green Inc focused a whole entry on an NRDC report released earlier this week offering a road map to a "green Indiana"... In the Daily Journal David Pettit criticizes legislation that could make power plant air permits too easy to get in California to the detriment of the health of local communities... Eric Goldstein emphasized that "New York City's drinking water supply is its single most valuable capital asset," and that "this is not a situation for half-measures or after-the-fact cleanups," in a Villager article on the growing momentum to ban gas drilling in the area of the NYC watershed... Kate Sinding continued to speak on the topic in the River Reporter pointing out that while suggested DEC regulations for the gas drilling were stronger than in most states; most states have set a very low bar.
