About

Bio:

I am an attorney in the oceans program at NRDC, where I focus on fish sustainability issues, including rebuilding overfished species, creating and implementing national legislation to protect the health of our federal fisheries, and establishing more Marine Protected Areas off the Pacific coast.

I received my undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a law degree from the University of Michigan. I also received a master’s degree in Environmental Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.

Favorite place:

Why "environmentalism" matters:
As humans we have the capacity both to use resources and to steward them. The human footprint on the planet has now unquestionably reached a level where it is vital for our survival that we increase our stewardship effort. Interestingly enough, I find that when I take “green” steps, such as making a sustainable seafood choice in a restaurant, I enjoy use of the resource (here, eating fish) much more.
