what is the hearing about?

LeilaApr 7 2009 01:17 PM

Thanks for asking, Stirland! This hearing is for the Secretary of the Interior to listen to the voices of Americans about our views on future offshore energy development on the nation’s Outer Continental Shelf (OCS),(ocean areas beyond 3 miles). This is a critically important opportunity to tell Secretary Salazar, and his boss, President Obama, that we need a clean energy future--we need not sacrifice our oceans to perpetuate dependence on fossil fuels.
