The task force is passing all three marine protected area options developed by the regional stakeholder group -- the Conservation, Fishing, and Middle-ground proposals -- on to Department of Fish and Game. These proposals will be reviewed as part of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process.
In order to address outstanding questions and concerns raised by the hundreds of stakeholders who have presented their views, the task force asked the staff of the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative to come up with additional options, known as "A" and "B". The task force is now listening to stakeholders and scientists to consider the pros and cons of all these options. Watch the hearing live.
