Kelly Henderson, Climate Center Program Assistant, Washington, D.C.
While still being fairly new to the NRDC team, I’ve already seen what an incredibly passionate and hard working group of people embody the organization. Coming in with a B.S. in Environmental Studies, I had (and still have) a deep desire to put myself to use in a way that can make a difference in the way people view protecting the Earth. Before coming to NRDC, I interned with the Army Corps of Engineers in their Regulatory Division in southeastern North Carolina doing wetland preservation and research. This allowed me an opportunity to interact with the environment that NRDC is working so diligently to protect. I love spending time in and around the ocean as I feel naturally at home around water. When not in the office you can find me biking, cooking, swimming or just spending time outside!

These days, it’s tough to be an environmentalist on the national level. The current “Right-heavy” House pays little to no attention to the health impacts related to air pollution and is too focused on tying EPA’s hands when it comes...continued→

What are you thankful for this Holiday season? You’ve probably been asked that question every year since you were in first grade and probably always had the same answers: family, friends and freedom. My standards were always: family, friends, my...continued→
