Two minutes on how to make a healthy city
This two-minute video was produced by the Healthy Eating, Active Living Cities Campaign, a California partnership that works with cities "to adopt policies that will improve the physical activity and food environments for all residents." The Campaign emphasizes land use, healthy foods and employee wellness, and maintains a very useful library of policies adopted by 102 California cities (so far).
The video is as good a short, well-produced introduction to the subject as I have seen:
- Designing healthy communities with Dr. Richard Jackson (January 20, 2012)
- Making cities healthier (and livelier) with a 'walking school bus' and vitality makeover (November 1, 2011)
- Designing communities for health: tools and resources (November 29, 2010)
