Earlier this week I featured the promising work of the public-private partnership ArtPlace, which provides financial support to arts projects that revitalize and strengthen neighborhoods, towns and cities.  It appears to be a fantastic program.  Here's an very fast-moving and well-produced video highlighting the collaborative's work in 2011 and looking forward to the grant assistance just announced for 2012.  Enjoy:

Love this! Arts-driven placemaking is a smart way to re-organize the values around design, place and community. In light of the provider shortages among many rural areas, a central question is how can rural towns recruit and retain nurses and physicians to come and stay. This project is one way to bring new life to rural places while activating public places and shaping community.
