Paradise Paved - "Discover Kauai"

Paradise Paved -

Please forgive the lame title reference to a 40-year-old (!) Joni Mitchell song, but my creative juices are running a little low today.  Fortunately, they weren't running low AT ALL for the guy who made this video.  I could try to put it into some kind of context, but there's no way I could introduce the subject better than the video itself.  Enjoy:

Great find thanks. I used to live in Kauai and I can' tell you how disheartening the traffic and pavement is. It really is the Joni Mitchell song, more than anywhere I've ever seen.

Every island is a totally corrupt banana republic with rich East Asians and Americans basically carving it up.

That said, there are still some gems on Kauai, just have to buy enough groceries to avoid going onto the main road for a couple weeks at a time.

BTW -- first *and* last name? That's really annoying.

Thanks for that perspective, Ro, and thanks for reading.

I suppose our webmeisters, who are awfully good at what they do and supportive of people like me, wanted the first and last names to discourage spam and anonymous pot-shots. Bear with us and do come back.

That is lame. I just returned from a month living on the Westside of Kauai. I never was caught in bad traffic in Kapaa. If you don't try to make the trip at "rush hour" it's usually fine and there is now a by-pass, of sorts.
Kauai is still a stunningly fine island. It has the best beachs, great surfing, and most importantly, the most aloha spirit to be found anywhere in Hawaii. Kauai no ka oi!
