John Wood, Public Interest Legal Fellow, New York
I was raised in the South — Texas, Florida, and North Carolina — so I spent much of my youth outdoors, wading in creeks, climbing trees, and hiking Appalachian trails. This enchanted me to the natural environment for good. I pursued philosophy in college, and my reflections on morality, human nature, and the meaning of life always took me back to the need to protect natural resources for future generations. In law school I applied these concerns by focusing on energy policy, climate change, and sustainable supply chain management. My work at NRDC covers natural gas drilling and environmental justice.
