No fish, no red meat, no poultry (or other white meat).  I am from Wisconsin, so naturally a friend asked me if wild game was still on the menu.  No wild game.  My reasons are as complicated as many people’s eating choices are – they are personal, cultural, dynamic and imperfect.   

Nevertheless I trust that eating lower on the food chain will ease a tiny portion of the air and water pollution caused by industrial agriculture, reduce my total carbon footprint, and limit my contribution to unsustainable fishing practices.  I hope that this small step will make 2010 a more sustainable year for me.  Happy New Year!
