Franz Matzner, Climate Legislative Director, Washington, D.C.
Matzner’s areas of expertise include public lands, forestry, fire, and biofuels sustainability policy. He is co-author of the NRDC report “Safe At Home: Making the Federal Fire Safety Budget Work for Communities.” Prior to joining NRDC, Matzner was Senior Policy Analyst at Taxpayer for Common Sense, where he directed the agriculture program, led campaigns addressing public lands subsidies, and co-led the Green Scissors Campaign.
Matzner graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
