Sigourney Weaver is just awesome. What else can you say after watching her performance this morning on Fox and Friends.
The show introduced her segment as a promo for the new James Cameron film, AVATAR, but Sigourney politely switched topics and started talking about ACID TEST, the new NRDC film she narrated (and I directed with Tristan Bayer) about rising ocean acidity caused by our reliance on fossil fuels. The hosts of the show tried to pull her back to discuss the science fiction film but Sigourney calmly stuck with science facts. It was probably the first nationally televised discussion about the urgent problem of ocean acidity and it concluded with Sigourney calling for the country to pass clean energy legislation! In a couple of minutes, Sigourney brought more information, sense and perspective to Fox and Friends than the show is likely to have for the rest of the year.
The internal NRDC email commentary about Sigourney's control of the interview has been pretty amusing. Best one-liner so far: "she flushed him out the airlock!"
Oh yeah.

That was very very well done by her. Even when he try to bring it back to Avatar she changed in back to ACID Test right away.

Not such a big coup if you only have one comment posted.....if one has to be so sneaky or clever as you call it, the issue must have difficulty with airtime or you just wanted to screw over a network you can't stomach.....go over to MSNBC, they have super low ratings and will give you as much airtime to push your agenda...... if the topic is worthy....take it to the State run media and it will fly....but for some reason it was more of a desire to trump Fox then to speak about an issue you are passionate about. Typical of the left....brow beat instead of sticking with the issues. Why not go on Fox and speak about your acid ocean issue and be up front about it.....they do run such interviews....but again the agenda was not really promoting your issue of acid oceans it was screwing Fox....well, those that laugh last, laugh the hardest.....the audience turned a deaf ear, when it was obvious what was happening. You would have had far more listening ears if your game would not have been played.....Just go over to the other cables without such a large audience and you will get coverage, but you blew it if you wanted to get the message out to the largest cable news audience. They now have no respect for the delivery, hence, the importance the issue is lost. Don't know if this will impact your buddy, S. Weaver ticket wise at the box office, I doubt it.....so it won't impact her pocketbook.....oh by the way, what kind of cars do you guys drive...and provide energy for your homes? Al Gore says one thing about conserving, but lives a totally non- conserving life in his home.....so you Hollywood types love to have issues to be passionate about.....but you fall short of living them.....why don't you start to throw YOUR huge amount of money into the schools in CA...reduce class size and train teachers to teach students so the students actually learn to understand the concepts taught and not required to spit our facts and forget them.....that is when real learning will take place...particularly in the sciences.....then you will get quality students passionate about learning about the acid in the oceans.....then it will not be a political issue.....all that has to be done is educate children to want to learn....there is a way.....I am in demand teaching homeschool children to want to learn.....it is not drudgery......I want to campaign for the best way to produce students who are excited about learning....but who wants to hear from a non-union teacher who won't enter the golden gate doors of traditional education......be smart....stand up for your issues...don't just think about trumping what you consider is the opposition.....the end result is not the attention you had hope to get.
Good luck....change your st

In reference to the posting above, the last sentence should read....Good luck and change your strategy so the awareness of the acid ocean issues is more widely received and recognized rather than scoring points against the enemy......I am sure you have heard you get further with your rivals if you treat them with kindness......just watch how well it DOES work.....don't be so vindictive....again, Good Luck AND stop with the politics.....green is also a conservative issue if it is not off the deep end......and presented in the way S. Weaver chose to present it.....
