- Roots in:
- Cleveland Ohio till 1969; Berkeley CA through 1977, San Francisco since then
- Favorite place:
- Lots of them: wilderness areas with mountains and canyons, such as Yosemite, Cappadocia in Turkey, Guilin in China, Mount Tamalpais within walking distance (Ok an all day walk) from my house, as well as other smaller canyons.
- Why "environmentalism" matters:
- Because it serves so many basic human needs and desires: promoting prosperity and higher quality of life and also satisfying spiritual needs for appreciation of nature. I find it satisfying to look out my window in the center of the fourth largest city in North America and see a mountain 45 miles away and all the weather in between.
