About
- Bio:
At NRDC I work for the Director of National Media Relations, Jon Coifman. Usually my job consists of tracking NRDC’s presence in the media, fielding media calls, and attending to Jon’s administrative needs. In general, I like it.
Before getting here, I went to school at NYU (studying everything from ceramics, to neuroscience and eastern philosophy) and I worked as a Research Assistant and Studio Manager for an artist in SoHo.
Today, I live with one cat and three roommates in an East Village apartment. We live rather comfortably with a projector for a TV and surround sound in the living room, but secretly, I’m slowly making my roommates turn eco-friendly (read: CFLs in about 70% of the apartment, strict recycling policy, wind powered electricity, recycled toilet paper in the bathroom…), and so far—aside from that first brand of TP I made them try—they haven’t complained.
- Roots in:
- Pittsburgh (No, it is NOT the Midwest .)
- Favorite place:
- Punta Uva, Costa Rica
- Why "environmentalism" matters:
- Because even if I don’t see the natural wonders of the world in my lifetime, I like the idea that someday my (not yet existent) kids could. And because, as my IT friend Umar, says “I don’t want to have to colonize the moon.”
