Chinese photographer Lu Guang has won the 2009 W. Eugene Smith Award for his pictures of pollution in China. You can see an extensive set of photos here.
If you have not seen Eugene Smith's photographs of Minimata, you should take a look. They are stunning. And they helped to change the course of environmental protection in Japan.
