Anubhav Gupta
I grew up in small town India, moving to Houston, Texas with my family as a teen. I studied Political Science and International Relations at Northwestern University outside Chicago, where I served as an intern for then Senator Barack Obama’s Senate office during my final semester. After graduating, I worked at a law firm in Boston before heading west. My appreciation for nature started during a weeklong canoeing/backpacking trip in Texas’s Big Bend National Park in 2005. Since moving to California in 2009, my passion for the environment has blossomed. Two things are to blame: the splendor of the green expanse here in California, and the inspiring care and passion that buoys all of NRDC’s efforts. My NRDC colleagues and friends have proven delightful camping companions, rafting guides, and hiking buddies, but most importantly they have taught me not just how to appreciate the environment but how to really love and shepherd it.
