About
- Bio:
I grew up in eastern North Carolina. I’d say my introduction to environmentalism actually happened through my involvement in the Boy Scouts. I really enjoyed camping and outdoor activities, and my troop engaged in these activities all the time. I also have to give credit to my mom for instilling the virtues of environmentalism, including promoting activities like recycling, at an early age. I attended college in North Carolina and chose Environmental Sciences and Policy as a major. I then attended law school with a desire to work as an environmental lawyer. For the last four years, I have had the pleasure to work with a great team of lawyers and scientists at NRDC. For the last three of these years, I have been a full time “smog attorney” working to clean up some of the filthiest air in the nation. While challenging, I am able to work with many great colleagues inside and outside of NRDC.
- Roots in:
- Eastern North Carolina; pit stop in Colorado for three years; and now to my new home in Southern California.
- Favorite place:
- Taki’s in Denver, CO; Northern New Mexico
- Why "environmentalism" matters:
- Too many people breathe polluted air on a daily basis. I want to clean up the air for my loved ones, friends, colleagues, clients, and others I may not even know. We have a right to clean air, but unfortunately, this right is often forgotten. Oh yeah, and things like furry animals, other critters, and clean water are important too.
