Colorado's new oil and gas rules have been criticized by the industry as being harmful to business. To the contrary, here is the latest news on industry strength in Colorado during the first two quarters of 2010:

  • Industry has gotten more permits to drill in Colorado than in any other state in the region, including Wyoming, New Mexico, Kansas, Utah and Montana.
  • More wells have been started in Colorado than any other state in the region.
