I've blogged before about well blow-outs during hydraulic fracturing in North Dakota and Pennsylvania. Last week there was another blow-out during a hydraulic fracturing operation in a Pennsylvania state forest. Talisman Energy said it was shutting down all of its hydraulic fracturing operations in North America while investigating the cause of this incident. It was reported that 21,000 gallons of frack fluid blew into the air.

This just proves that they are drilling without knowing all the ramifications of what they are doing. They keep saying they are "drilling safely" for many years, but they still keep having these "incidents" that prove they don't really care what happens to the environment. I hope that in New York they will be more closely watched and prevented from destroying our clean water supply. We can live without natural gas, but we cannot live without safe, clean drinking water.
