I’m a Policy Analyst for NRDC’s Harbor Bight Program. I work on Mid-Atlantic and federal efforts to protect and restore our ocean health, and to save the wetland ecosystem of Jamaica Bay. I attended Colgate University, and received a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University. Prior to joining NRDC, I worked for a number of environmental organizations, including the League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club. As a Senior Associate for the strategic consulting firm of GMMB I designed and oversaw the implementation of public education campaigns for a range of socially conscious clients.

Why "environmentalism" matters:
Environmentalism matters because without thoughtful and committed actions to protect and restore our natural heritage, we may find that we’ve gambled away the planet’s ability to sustain itself … and us. “I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, our sweat, and in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea … we are going back from whence we came.” – John F. Kennedy
